Schwab PortfolioCenter® maintains security prices per security and allows
the user to edit daily prices for a security or edit prices for multiple securities
for a specific day. However there are no easy ways to:
- find the dates for which prices are missing for one or multiple securities
- get accurate valuation for any arbitrary day because prices for holidays and weekends may not be available
- set pricing data for securities that did not exist until now and are needed for newly transferred accounts
- find prices from public data sources and compare them with what is stored in Schwab PortfolioCenter®
- copy prices from one security to another across several days
- delete prices across multiple days from Schwab PortfolioCenter®
- for infrequently or non-publicly traded securities, set price to a certain value across multiple days
keyPort is a tool that addresses these needs in a simple and user friendly manner.
Researching prices
keyPort allows you to research prices for a security across
multiple dates. You can specify part of the security name or symbol to lookup
a security. You can select a date range for which to search for prices.
Additionally, you can choose to include weekends, show/exclude zero, missing
or non-zero prices.
keyPort shows you the results of your search by looking
inside Schwab PortfolioCenter® for prices that exist. Weekend rows are shown with
a green background. Market Holiday rows are shown in a pink background.
Copying price data for new securities
keyPort makes it easy to copy prices from one security to
another and allows you to transform the source price while copying. This is
especially useful for bond prices.
Creating Security Groups
keyPort supports creation of security groups to update
price data for a set of securities. Groups can be created by selecting
securities or adding them from an existing account's holdings.
Bulk updating prices
With keyPort, it is a snap to update multiple prices based
on a saved group of securities or a select a set of securities on the fly.
Adding price data for new securities
When new securities are introduced in your system, such as those
that exist in a newly acquired portfolio, keyPort can be used to find historical
prices and directly update your system
Deleting price data
Using keyPort, you can remove prices that are old or incorrect.
